How often do you update your probate case database?
We update our database daily (except weekends).
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
Yes. While we offer a free 7-day trial, a valid credit/debit card is required to sign up. Your card will not be charged if you cancel prior to trial expiration. If you do not cancel, your card will be charged once the trial is over for the first month of service. You can still cancel your plan at any time.
Is it safe to give my credit card information?
Yes! We do not store your credit card information. Instead, we use an industry-leading service called Stripe. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. For more information on card security, you can visit https://stripe.com/docs/security/stripe
What's the difference between the plans?
All plans offer the same features, except Pro and Ultimate provide access to trust search, in addition to probate case search. Also, Pro and Ultimate have larger case download allowances -- 500 and 900 monthly downloads respectively, compared to 250 monthly case downloads offered by the Starter Plan.
What is a download?
You can search and view unlimited number of probate cases. However, you may want to download some of the cases to your computer as a CSV (great for mail merge campaigns) or PDF. Each downloaded case counts as a "download" against your quota.
Why can I only download 2 probate cases during my 7-day free trial?
Our free trial offers the full functionality of a paid account, including unlimited search and view. We do, however, restrict your downloads, which are limited to 2 cases. We believe that 2 cases are sufficient to test-drive the functionality of downloading a case. If you need more downloads, we assume that you're ready to start using the leads to solicit probate business, which would require a paid account.
Are there any other limits to my account during the free trial period?
Yes. In addition to only being able to download two probate cases, there's one more feature limitation. The full library of probate videos presented by the attorney Paul Horn is reserved for paid subscribers. During your free trial period, only a limited number of videos are available for watching.
If I download the same case as a PDF and then as a CSV file, does it count as one download or two?
It counts as one download.
What information can I expect to see in each case?
A short answer is: a lot. Our data covers the decedent, the petitioner (your boss if you're a real estate agent looking to list the property), beneficiaries, attorney information, and estimated distribution (how much money approximately is distributed to each heir).
For more detailed information and to see our system in action, please sign up for a no-obligation 7-day trial.
Why do I see a $1 charge after signing up for a free trial?
This is a temporary charge used to validate your credit card. Regardless of whether or not the authorization is declined, our credit card processing provider Stripe will reverse the authorization request immediately. However, even if the bank declines the authorization, some members may still see the request for $1 on their credit card statement. The important thing to remember is that this is not a charge, and it will disappear from your statement. Depending on the bank, it may take a few business days for the charge to disappear.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes! Plan upgrades/downgrades can be managed online. To access your billing features, click on the gear icon next to your name and select "Billing." If you choose to upgrade your plan, you will be charged the difference between the lower-tier and the upper-tier plan right away. Your new download quota will increase immediately. Then, starting with the next billing cycle, you will be charged the full price of your new plan. If you choose to downgrade your plan, the new lower-tier plan will start at the end of your current billing cycle. You will enjoy your current higher download quota until the new lower-priced plan starts during the next billing cycle.
Can I roll over my unused downloads to the next month?
No. You can download the number of cases allowed by your plan on any given billing period (which is a month). Once the new billing cycle starts, your download limit resets back to the limit set by your plan. Remember, all plans have unlimited search/view.
