Are There Any New Probate Leads While COVID-19 Restrictions Still in Place?

One of the biggest misconceptions related to probate leads is that there are no new cases while COVID-19 restrictions are in place. Yes, the courts are still closed for most non-essential proceedings. However, probate cases are still being filed in all counties covered by the Probate Money platform.

Some courts are keeping their probate case records more up-to-date than others. In Los Angeles county Stanley Mosk Courthouse, probate business continues as usual. Cases are trickling in every workday and we’re updating our database accordingly. With rare exceptions, you can still expect new cases on a daily basis (excluding weekends).

Other courthouses are slower, such as Orange County. Some others, like San Bernardino or Riverside, don’t have a ton of cases, to begin with. Overall, it’s not true that court closures have affected probate cases in any meaningful way. While some counties may be a little slower updating their data, we’re still able to upload new cases every day.
